Originally from Pennsylvania, Courtney moved to Parkersburg when she was eleven years old. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology and is currently working towards Master’s in Clinical Psychology. When Courtney first joined the team at Harmony Ridge Recovery Center, she was simply looking for a job. She did not expect to fall in love with the work she does on a daily basis. “I have been fortunate enough to have some amazing firsthand experiences and observations; I can use these experiences in my future career as a therapist. Every day I learn something new and grow as an individual, which is something that I have never experienced in a job before.” She goes on and describes the most rewarding part of her role, “The most rewarding part of my job at Harmony Ridge is seeing individuals come in here at their lowest and slowly, but beautifully, become themselves again. Watching someone break free from the chains of addiction and decide to seek out their true potential is one of the most amazing and perspective changing things I have ever seen!” When asked what lessons your work life has taught you, Courtney pointed out how her work is a constant reminder to refrain from judging others by their past actions. Instead, she feels a person’s value should be determined by their potential.
